Valentine Japanese Sweets Class (Wagashi) – February 9th, 2017

Best Living Japan will be offering a Valentine Japanese Sweets Class (Wagashi) Class on Thursday, February 9th, 2017! Learn how to shape and decorate your own Valentine Japanese sweets. We will make a design called “Sprouting Love.” You will also be able to take home your creations to share with your loved ones!  The sweets are gluten free and vegetarian friendly. The class will be offered twice on the same day from 9:15 – 11:15 and 19:15 – 21:15 (min is five people, max 10) in Minami Azabu. Shiho Sakamoto, Valentine Japanese Sweets Class (Wagashi) - February 9th, 2017 The Valentine Japanese sweet class will be taught in English by Ms. Shiho Sakamoto, a Japanese Sagashi Artist. Since 2013 Ms. Sakamoto has been creating and supervising custom-made wagashi work. Holding wagashi classes and workshops in Japan and oversea countries. She is very active in supervising sahashi creation for Japanese movies and also special domestic events, such as the Japanese movie ” Ask This of Rikyu” the COREDO Muromachi opening, tea sweets at the Park Hotel. She has also traveled internationally to Korea and Italy to demonstrate at various tea and sweet exhibitions. One of her most exciting career activities to date has been creating and serving wagashi at the tea ceremony, held by Japanese First Lady, Abe Akie.

Event date and time: Thursday, February 9th, 2017 from 9:15 – 11:15 and 19:15 – 21:15.
Cost: 6,000 JPY (tax and materials included). Payment in cash on day of class.
Address: Arisu Iki-Iki Plaza (Kitchen area on 3rd floor), 4-6-7 Minami-azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo
Access: 8 min walk from Hiroo Station on the Hibiya Line (Top of Arisugawa Park)
