Umami Burger (Aoyama, Tokyo) – Adult Burger Space w/ Children’s Menu

I grew up on a farm so crave a good burger every once in a while – very happy Umami Burger has launched in Japan. Umami Burger started in California and now has 24 branches in Las Vegas, Chicago, NYC and Tokyo!  Their whole concept is gourmet burgers which capture the fifth taste of “umami.”  Umami Burger Tokyo is a great place to have a burger with the kids or happy hour with friends. Although they specialize in burgers, Umami Burger,non-beef eaters have some yummy options to choose from – chicken, falafel, onion rings, sweet potato fries…..hungry yet.

Umami means “deliciousness.”  Umami has been coined the fifth taste joining sweet, sour, salty, and bitter. The fifth taste of umami is rich and savory.  Umami-rich foods include soy sauce, miso paste, bonito flakes in Asian cuisine; and cured ham, cheese, tomatoes, ketchup and mushrooms in Western cuisine. Umami Burger has mastered the Umami flavor – highly recommend you stop in!

Umami Burger,The menu has over 20 entrees and not all are beef burgers. They also have a vegetarian burger, fried chicken, and fried fish. Don’t worry salad Umami Burger,lovers they have those as well.  The starters and sides are so delicious that you may not even want to order an entree – onion rings, truffle fries, short rib sliders, and sweet potato fries to die for.  The kid’s menu has three meals – hamburger, grilled cheese or chicken which includes a side and drink for 800 yen. Umami Burger also has kids place settings and provides crayons and paper.  Main entrees are 1,400 – 1,800. Expect to spend about 2,500 per adult with a drink and side.
