If you are not a meat eater, skip and head to Aoyama Flower Market, Citron or Franze and Evans for a great salad.  Maisen has a lovely dining room on the second floor of their Aoyama shop, as well as counter seating on the first floor. If you don’t have time to sit down pick-up a tonkatsu sandwich at the store.

Maisen offers great meal sets that run from 990 – 3,400 JPY and include a tonkatsu, rice, soup, and pickles. Take out tonkatsu, croquette and sandwiches run 170 – 900 JPY. A kids lunch meal is offered for 900 JPY. You can see the menu offering here.

Maisen opened in 1965 and continues to be the leading tonkatusu restaurant in Tokyo. Super child-friendly offer baby hair chairs and a diaper changing space in the Maisen Tonkatsu Aoyamabathroom. Maisen has ten smaller stores around Tokyo and Japan where you can also buy the tonkatsu and tonkatsu sandwiches to take home.
