Tokyo has plenty of fun places open over the New Year holidays. Check out our recommended Top 25 Tokyo New Year Family Fun Spots open Dec 31 – Jan 2. Happy New Year! Besides the recommenced “open on New Years” spots below, most shopping malls are open now on Jan 1 starting at 11:00. Please check your local shopping mall’s websites before you head out. The Outlets are also open if you are up for a day trip.

Note most public museums open from Jan 2nd or 3rd for normal operations.
