Tokyo Police Museum 警察博物館, Kyobashi – Free Interactive Police Training for Kids

The Tokyo Police Museum 警察博物館 will inspire all youngsters to be a person in blue. If you are a fan of the Tokyo Fire Museum, the Police Museum is a must visit. The museum reopened in May 2017 following a one year remodel. Five floors of Tokyo police history, criminal investigation techniques and hands-on games and Tokyo Police Museum 警察博物館simulations about safety.  Entry to the museum is free. Plan for about 1-2 hours to visit all five floors.

Start the excitement when you enter the 1st floor by registering to borrow a police uniform and pose on the motorcycle, in the helicopter or Tokyo Police Museum 警察博物館by the police cruiser. After dressing up, return the uniform and take the elevator to the 5th floor. On the 5th floor you can learn about the history of the Tokyo Police Force since the Meiji period; very interesting for adults and teens/tweens. The 4th floor is about the different areas of police work, police training, and skills. Our favorite floors were the 2nd and 3rd where you can play with interactive games and simulations to learn safety skills and criminal investigative techniques. Kids will love the bicycle rider simulation where you practice traffic rules – get ready to crash and get back-up. Also researching fingerprints and determining shoe tread matching was quite a challenge. Many of the exhibits have English but not all. If you want to understand all the exhibits and Tokyo Police Museum 警察博物館, Tokyo with Kidsdo not read Japanese, I recommend visiting with a Japanese reader.

A great free Tokyo museum. Good job to the team that renovated the Tokyo Police Museum, A great new go to for Tokyo with Kids!
