Fungo Breakfast & Burgers Cafe is a great lunch option. It`s a a short 2 minute walk from the Setagaya Park mini SL train station. They serve breakfast from 9:00 daily and offer a unique variety of hot and cold sandwiches, burgers and sides from 11:00. We love having their Granny Smith Apple pies from for dessert. A relaxed and nice environment to take the family when visiting Setagaya Park.
Granny Smiths Apple Pie & Coffee shop is located across the street from Fungo. They have a takeaway counter with four of their standard apple pies; Japan Dutch Crumble, Classic Rum Raisin, French D’mandes and England Custard (around 400 yen per slice) as well as delicious seasonal pies, teas, espresso and coffee. They have two chairs outside their shop, but best to take home or eat at the park.

If your kids want to cool down there is a great splash river at Kodomo no Hiroba Park, a short 4 minute walk from Fungo and Granny Smith`s. Kodomo no Hiroba is a large, sand park with a long splash river, three different structures to climb, and plenty of shaded areas to protect everyone from the hot summer sun.

A hidden gem not far from the above is the Kuritsu Komatsunagi Playground Park. Part of the park is built on a hill and has everything you need for active kids. They have a large spinning globe, netted tunnels, a long rolling pin slide, swings and sand pit.
The park is located next to the Komatsunagi Shinto Shrine which holds various ceremonies such as 753, 100 days after birth, weddings, prayer rituals, etc. A nice, quiet spot to pray and take in nature.
Savoy Pizza Mishuku is a great family-friendly dinner option a short walk from the above. Our kids love watching the pizza chef kneading the dough and topping it with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, basil, olive oil, and salt. The chef then places the pizza in the wood fire oven for 45 seconds then voila, it`s done. The pizza comes out piping hot, with a thin crunchy crust and is delicious. Our kids love the Margherita Pizza, Bolognese Pasta and special desserts. Menu in Japanese & Italian.

Another family-friendly dinner option is Yakiniku Shibaura. They serve delicious cuts of Japanese domestic Wagyu Beef. Our kids love the Gyu-teru su-pu (ox tail soup), namuru (vegetables), kalbi (marinated beef), ribu rosu (rib roast) and harami (beef skirt). It`s located on the 2nd floor. Reservations recommended. Japanese menu.
