1. The Jingugaien Icho Festival (Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo)  – As mentioned in the eight best locations for autumn foliage article Icho Namiki (Ginko Avenue in Aoyama) is a magnificent location for viewing the brilliant yellow colors. At the end the main road there is an Icho Festival that is running now through Sunday, Dec 2nd. Over 40 food, beverage and lifestyle stores will participate serving all types of Autumn matsuri (festival) delicacies. While you`re there visit Niko Niko Park and stop in Shake Shack for all-natural 100% hormone-free Angus Beef Burgers.

2. Swedish Christmas Bazaar Sunday, December 3rd
Come and join us for our annual Swedish Christmas Bazaar at the Swedish Embassy in Roppongi on Sunday, December 3 between 12:00 – 16:00!
Enjoy Swedish traditional food, drinks, and handicrafts! You can try glögg (mulled wine) our favourite Swedish Christmas drink , eat traditional safron buns and enjoy Swedish folk music. To get you in the Christmas spirit there’s also a special performance by Lucia and her procession who will sing traditional Swedish Christmas songs.
Included in the ticket price is the Grand Raffle with amazing prices!
All proceeds go to the rebuilding of the Tohuko area. Please visit the Embassy auditorium to find out about the projects that we have been able to support thanks to the generous support from previous Christmas bazaars!
Please Note: For the safety and enjoyment of all, there will be a limited number of tickets sold and prams will not be permitted on the premises. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

3. Run for the Cure / Walk for Life 2018 – December 8th, 2018 –  5K/10K Run and 3K WalkIt’s a great fun time outdoors, so come join us with family, friends, and co-workers to help raise awareness about breast cancer in Japan. We can make a difference together! Registration deadline: Nov. 30 (Fri)

All proceeds raised will go towards the Foundation’s community outreach programs including The Lemon Project seminars and publication of PiNK, our quarterly bilingual magazine for women’s health.our programs are all developed and carried out free-of-charge to improve the QOL of breast cancer patients and survivors, as well as to raise greater awareness in Japan – both in the Japanese speaking and international communities.

4. Heiwajima Antique Show (Ota-ku) – A huge three-day inside antique fair.  Not to be missed. There are over 280 vendors that have a huge selection of Japanese, Asian and  western antiques. This show only happens a few times a year, and the good stuff sells quickly. Great show just in time for holiday shopping.

5. Setagaya Boroichi (Setagaya-ku) – Over 700 stalls selling everything and the kitchen sink.  Get off at Setagaya station and walk Boroichi Dori to Kamimachi Station. Plan for 2-3 hours to see the entire street. Very crowded so not recommend for children. This event only happens twice a year December and January.

6. Illumination Bike Ride – Japanese love their illuminations – cherry trees in the spring, foliage in the fall and holiday lights for Christmas. Tokyo is already aglow with so much light, so get out and enjoy over the next few weeks. A great 2-3 hour family bike ride is from Omotesando to Roppongi Hills to Marunouchi. Illuminations in Roppongi and Omotesando run until December 25th.  Start at 5:00 p.m. and enjoy dinner along the way. Remember to wear your helmets and reflective clothing for protection.

7. Tokyo Christmas Markets – Christmas markets are already in full swing! Get into the holiday spirit and stop in one of the Best Tokyo Christmas markets! Bundle up and shop for food and gifts under the illumination.

8. Tokyo Ice Skating – Embrace the season and enjoy the seasonal outdoor rinks during the winter months, and if the love of skating hits you can continue in one of the year-round rinks located in Tokyo.

9. Tokyo English Christmas Church Services – If you are in Tokyo for the holidays, consider attending one of the many beautiful Tokyo English Christmas Church Services. We have listed seven churches in Tokyo, and a handful in Yokohama, Kyoto and Osaka. Some of my best memories of a child are attending services. Even if you are unable to frequent church during the year make your Christmas even more special with family and friends and visit this Christmas to remember and worship!
