TELL Charity Walk and Run (Sunday, May 24th, 2015)

tell charityRun for a great cause – the 16th edition of the TELL Charity Walk and Run on May 24th, 2015.  The charity walk and run takes place at the Tama River (Tamagawa) running course and comprises a 10-kilometer run, 5-kilometer run, 5-kilometer walk, and 5-kilometer run for children.

The theme of this years  TELL Charity Walk and Run is  ‘Stand Up! Don’t Stand By’ to raise further awareness to this important issue and help prevent bullying in our society through education and awareness. Children who are persistently subjected to emotional, verbal, and physical abuse are at risk of developing stress-related illnesses and long-term emotional and behavioral problems including depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. Participate in the TELL Charity Walk and Run and show that you and your family are standing up to the bullying behaviour.

All proceeds from the event will support TELL, an accredited not-for-profit organization (NPO) with a 40+ year history in Japan, in its efforts to provide confidential mental health support and counseling totell charity Runathonthe international and Japanese community.

The TELL Charity Walk & Run comprises a 10-kilometer run, 5-kilometer run, 5-kilometer walk, and 5-kilometer run for children, with prizes awarded to the fastest runners in the 10-kilometer and 5-kilometer runs. In addition, the first 600 participants to check in on race morning will receive a TELL “Stand Up! Don’t Stand by” Charity Walk & Run t-shirt, provided by Gildan. Additional prizes awarded to the top three girls and boys, plus entertainment and stamp rally.

Race times: 5k 10:00 am | 10k 10:30 am | walk 10:35 am
Registration: www.telljp.com , Sports Entry, or on-site from 8:30
Cost: ¥3,500 (adult), ¥2,500 (6-12 yrs old).
Check in for race: Registration will take place at the Furuichiba Track and Field Stadium, accessible via Kashimada Station (Nambu line); Shin-Kawasaki Station (Yokosuka line); Yaguchinowatashi Station (Tokyu Tamagawa line). The event finishes at midday, and proceeds rain or shine.
