If you have a small or big child who loves building cars, battlefield displays or general construction models the Tamiya Plamodel Factory is one stop you should not miss while in Tokyo. The Tamiya Plamodel Factory in Shimbashi, Tokyo has the entire line of Tamiya products (over 6,000 SKUs). The first floor and basement are stocked with static display model series (figures and mobiles that do not move), radio controlled series, mini 4WD, educational construction series, tools and paint.
My third son loves building WWII models from various countries – US, Germany, Japan, etc. Tamiya Plamodel Factory makes it very easy for us to see all the different sets, and buy the glue and paint in one stop. If motor controlled cars are your thing you can buy all the pieces, from outer shells to wheels at Tamiya and construct entirely. They also have a test race course upstairs that you can sign-up to race and test your own creations. Definitely a fun outing for inventors young and old – Tamiya Plamodel Factory in Shimbashi, Tokyo.
