Sugekari Park and Japanese-style House and Garden is located 10 minutes from Nakameguro station in Aobadai. It has lush green, a vegetable garden maintained by local volunteers, grass picnic area, playground, Japanese garden and pond. The Japanese House and playground are located in opposite areas of the park. The playground side is filled with children`s laughter and the other peace and calm.
The refurbished Japanese house has a viewing room overlooking the lush pond and garden. Kids love running from the playground to pond to feed Koi. The rooms in the Japanese house can be rented out for 3 hours for gatherings such as tea ceremony, flower arrangement, haiku parties, etc. They charge 2700 JPN for one room which can hold up to 20 persons and another for 3100 JPY which can hold up to 30 persons. Applications are accepted on a first come first served basis and are reserved 3 months in advance.
Take a leisurely stroll along the Meguro River under lush green and cherry blossoms while browsing the local shops. Stop-in the Peanuts Cafe Nakameguro for a bite or take out and picnic at the park.
Sugekari Park Playground has the following equipment:

– Monkey Bars
– Climbing Equipment
– Grass. Note to protect the lawn portions of the grass are partitioned off. Please picnic in areas without a sign.
– Located 2 minutes from the park is Saigoyama Park in Daikanyama. Take a stroll up the hill from the playground to Saigoyama Park then browse the boutiques and baby-centered shops in Daikanyama.

The Wakan & Garden Hours: Wednesday – Monday 9:00 – 16:00; Closed every Tuesday (Closed Wednesday if Tuesday is a national holiday) and from Dec 28 – Jan 4.
Access: 10 minutes from Nakameguro and Ikejiriohashi Station; Accessible via the Tokyu Transses Bus. Aobadai 2-Chome Bus Stop.
