If you love beautiful art that is highly utilitarian then I recommend shopping at Sugahara Glass Store in Aoyama, Tokyo. I had never heard of the Sugahara glass until the concierge at the Grand Hyatt recommended as a “brilliant shop”. Sugahara (SGH) is now one of favorite stores in Tokyo for beautiful items for my home and gifts! Glasses, plates, vases, and more all crafted in Japan by the artisan of the Sugahara Glass Factory in Chiba. If you need a beautiful gift to take to a wedding or for a house 
warming gift this is a no-fail option. If you are a gourmet, all beverages and food will look even better in a Sugahara vessel be it in a round bottom glass, a tall flute or a double layer bubble bowl. Also on my bucket list is to take a Sugahara glass class that they offer at their 
factory on the seaside of Chiba. I promise once I attend a class I will share the experience. If you can not visit their store in Aoyama they also have locations in Kobe, Osaka, or Sendai! Buy something beautiful and bring more light and brilliance into our home!
