Squishies スクイーズ are the trend right now in Japan for kids! You can’t walk anywhere in Shibuya or Harajuku and not see Squishies for sale in all the Tokyo kids and teen shops. Squishies can run anywhere from a few hundred yen to thousands of yen. So was so psyched when my daughter and I discovered Squishies craft kits. Most kids have between 2-10 squishies that you then paint, cut and decorate as you wish. Squishies スクイーズ – Make Your Own Japanese Squishies – Awesome Japan Gift.  Even if you don’t read Japanese, you can follow the pictures in the kit directions and figure out how to create your squishes masterpiece. We bought ours on Amazon.co.jp, but you can also finds some kits in Japanese book stores in the kids section.

You will also need a set of acrylic paints, a few paint brushes, scissors and some glue. Option are make-up pads (we used wet paper towels) and any other decorations you desire (glitter, sequins, puff paint etc).

Here are some others Squishies sets on Amazon.co.jp. However, I found it hard to determine how many actual squishies were in each kit. You need to look really closely at the close-up images on Amazon.
