Space Museum TenQ is an entertainment museum set up to deepen your knowledge about the universe. Patrons can visit 9 different space related areas beginning with their projection mapping room. Sit and watch the walls undergo a variety of transformations then watch visuals of space and philosophers from past to present (5 min). Then head to the Theater Sora where you`ll feel like you`re floating in space and view real-life footage of the Earth as seen from the ISS (International Space Station).
The Science room is set up so visitors can experience models of cutting edge interplanetary probes and see data from actual research. English and Japanese explanations at each installation. Not ideal for young children as there is a lot of reading involved. They also offer an audio guide in multiple languages. From there walk to the Imagination room where you can enjoy interactive hands on activities. Kids really enjoyed the interactive Space Self-Diagnosis quiz. Step on the footprints and request the quiz you would like – what type of alien or space station are you? Jump on the yes or no bubbles and wait for your number. Look for your number on the board and open the box with your number to read your diagnosis. The imagination room also holds magnetic puzzles to create your own planet, a game where you fly a rocket by operating a robotic ball, craft area on “family day” (held twice per month), space art gallery, videos about the universe and more.
TenQ is located in a building that houses Baseball/Golf/Bouldering 3F, Roller Skate Arena 4F, and Bowling Center 5F. A great spot to escape inclement weather. They have a standing area at their main entrance that showcases space related materials; books, space models, globes, etc., and a gift shop. The gift shop is also open to visitors who choose not enter the museum.
