Shinjuku Chuo Park (Shinjuku) - Green Play Metropolis in Central Tokyo

Shinjuku Chuo Park (Shinjuku) – Green Metropolis in Central Tokyo

Shinjuku Chuo Park is a huge park with a great kids playground, running paths and a summer water play area. It is a great park to have a picnic lunch in after visiting the Tokyo Metropolitan Building to see the amazing view of Tokyo (for free). Shinjuku Chuo Park is located right next to the Washington Hotel, Shinjuku Hyatt Hotel, Shinjuku Hilton Hotel and the Knot Hotel.Shinjuku Chuo Park (Shinjuku) - Green Play Metropolis in Central TokyoNote: Due to its central location there are some homeless people. On our our last trip to the park we saw two on the far end of the park who stay to themselves You can use this as a learning experience and take an unopened drink and bento to give to them.

See our complete list of recommended parks here. If its raining or too hot, you can also go to one of these great indoor parks.

By activity you can also rent and ride kid bikes here,  Splash in water here.

The park has a fantastic climbing play structure with spongy ground surface to protect little ones. This is one of the best play structures in a public park in Tokyo I have found. There is a also a cement huge slide the older kids love! Other highlights are the retro ride ones that kids of all age will love. The park built in 1968 is covered with full growth trees which is nice in the summer.  There are public bathrooms and a snack shop that sells beverages and ice cream.

Great place to visit if the huge buildings, lights and traffic of Shinjuku make you a bit crazy.Shinjuku Chuo Park (Shinjuku) - Green Play Metropolis in Central Tokyo
