Join us for a fun and functional washi chabako class. Chabako are Japanese tea boxes made of wood and lined with metal to protect the tea or other important items form bugs and moisture. We will use wooden boxes, and decorate them in beautiful patterns of Japanese washi. Best Living Japan has a nice selection of washi to chose from our you can bring two of your own sheets of washi to use. We will also send you home with varnish so when your box dries in one week you can protect the wash for future generations.

All materials are included. A 5kg size wooden chabako lined with tin will be provided with the class fee.

Lauren Bliss Kawasaki, best living japan

Lauren Bliss Kawasaki has been learning kintsugi, indigo and washi arts for over five years and teaching for two. She is a Mom of four kids, three pets, and Co-Founder of Best Living Japan. Lauren was a studio art major in undergrad but was sucked into the business world graduating with an MBA from Harvard Business School and working 20+ years in the corporate world (Hill & Knowlton, Clorox, and & She retired in 2014 to follow her creative passions and help empower other creators to identify and pursue their passions and make money.
