Best Living Japan’s Curriculum and Instruction Director, Palmarin Merges is a Filipina American artist and trained Printmaker, whose works draw upon the idea of restriction as a generative force.
By reusing materials close at hand, she processes the materials of our daily lives and transforms them into patterns, collages, and Concrete Poetry.
Palmarin Merges holds an MFA in Printmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute and has exhibited in Japan, the Philippines, San Francisco, and Portland, Oregon. She has previously taught Relief, Screenprint, and drawing at Pacific Northwest College of Art, Marylhurst University, Pacific University, and the Multnomah Arts Center.
