The Pokemon Cafe and Center Store is another excellent spot for Pokemon lovers in Tokyo. Pokemon Center Tokyo DX opened its cafe and center store in 2018 on the 5th floor of the Takashimaya Department store in Nihonbashi. They offer adorable Pokemon character-themed drinks and dishes, exclusive merchandise, and a visit from a Pokemon Character. Reservations required. A favorite for elementary kids, and die-hard adult Pokemon fans!
Patrons are allowed entrance into the cafe 10 min prior to reservation time (90 minute reservations). Upon entering we were pleasantly surprised by the bright and airy space. The interior is decorated with natural wood tables and flooring, a handful of Pokemon symbols, and a few Pokemon characters and souvenirs line the shelves.
Food and drink orders are made via multilingual iPads located at each table (last order is 60 minutes after you are seated). You receive a free Pokemon coaster with any drink order. The wait staff will approach your table mid-meal for someone to select one card from a variety on their iPad. The card reveals a Pokemon and you get to take that coaster home. At the 60 minute mark the wait staff will remind you of the last order. After they make their rounds a Pokemon character will come out to greet the patrons. Individual photo ops are not allowed.
After lunch visit the Pokemon Center Store located just outside the cafe. Kids can play games on the digital wall or sign up for a Pokemon card training session offered in the store (first come first served basis). * Note, visit the store on your birthday month and receive 5% off your entire purchase. ID with birthdate required. Take home some great limited edition Pokemon souvenirs while you`re there!
