If you are heading out to Hakone or Gotemba Outlets, you will want to save two hours to visit Parcabout tree nets. Parabout is a huge trampoline, and net climbing system suspended 4-10 meters in the air between huge trees. Each climbing session is for 2 hours, and you will be exhausted after two hours. After climbing, bouncing, running and sliding for two hours walk down the hill to the Only Yu (オンリー湯)onsen which is a great family friendly little indoor-outdoor onsen
Parcabout was developed in France and opened in Japan in mid-2017. Your kids will love climbing up the bouncing ramp and reaching full running stride up in the branches of the trees. My teens chilled out in one area (best floating nap they ever had), while my two younger ones had me bouncing and running two hours straight. Very fun way to connect with nature! Beautiful any time of year, but during the autumn, it will be perfect foliage.
A few tips before you visit.
- Make a reservation online or call to reserve.
- Wear athletic clothing.
- Bring a bottle of water which you can leave at the base of the structure.
- Tuck shirts into shorts and trousers before going down the rope slides you may get rope burn
- Not recommended for people with back or knee problems.
- Would not recommend for pregnant ladies – too easy to tumble.
- Take a packed lunch since the area is pretty remote.
- If you have time visit the onsen next door (Only Yu) – perfect after a good workout!

Thanks for sharing this–it looks awesome. Do you have any more information about Only Yu. An internet search didn’t come up with anything. I wanted to see hours, days closed and if tattoo-friendly (asking that part for a friend). Thanks.
