Autumn is our second favorite season after spring because the weather is amazing and there are so many family fun activities. Just in case you have not figured out what to do with your family this weekend we list up our favorites below. Tokyo Academics, Tutoring in English1. FREE Tokyo Academics College Talk – Setting Personal Goals and Creating a College Application List – Tokyo Tokyo Academics, the leading English tutoring, and counseling center for elementary to high school students in Tokyo are offering five free talks to help plan your child’s secondary education and college plans. The first talk two weeks ago about Understand the SAT and ACT was superb. This Sunday’s (Nov 12) talk will be about setting personal goals and creating a college application list.  Tokyo Harvest

2. Tokyo Harvest (Roppongi, Tokyo) – We have attended this event the past two years and have enjoyed each time. Great talking some of the 40 farmers who had stalls at the Tokyo Harvest to sell their autumn harvest. Very interesting selection of autumn produce for sale; such as sweet potatoes, long onions, mushrooms, and rice. A great place to educate your children on seasonal produce. There was also art, music and food trucks to enjoy as well.

3. Farmers & Kids Festa (Hibiya Park, Tokyo) –  The Farmers and Kids Festa will showcase large collection of agricultural products and some livestock from farmers throughout Japan. Visit the food booths, participate in workshops to learn about agriculture and food, and stay for the singers, dancers and Tokyo Fire Department Brass Band. There will also be a special Anpanman show on Saturday (10:30-11:30 & 13:00-14:00) and Wan Wan Show on Sunday (10:30-11:00 & 13:45-14:15) for little ones. There is also an old playground that still can amuse little ones for a short break. Couple with the Tokyo Chrysanthemum Exhibition or a trip to Ginza for shopping. A few of our favorite stores are Uniqlo, Itoya for Japanese paper and stationary, Hakukinhan Toy Store, and Takumi craft store.

4. Snow Bank Tokyo Snow Festival 2017 (Yoyogi Park, Tokyo) –  Snowboard competition at Yoyogi Park! A slope of snow will be brought into the park with a rail running down the middle for snowboarders to show off their best tricks. The goal of this annual event is to increase interest in snowboarding and raise awareness of becoming a bone marrow donor. Watch the snowboarders, grab a bite and stay for the entertainment.

5. Franciscan Chapel Center’s Christmas Boutique and Mrs. Claus’s Bake Shop (Roppongi) – I am pretty loyal about not decorating for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving (Nov 23rd), but I do enjoy a good church Christmas Boutique and Bake Sale!  If you are starting to get in the holiday mood, and maybe just missing home a bit, you should attend the Franciscan Chapel Center’s annual Christmas Boutique!  Bring a friend and share in the holiday spirit while shopping an assortment of Christmas decorations, gifts and crafts, including bone china accents, exquisite obi, handmade pottery, washi cards, jewelry and much more! Visit Mrs. Claus’s Bake Shop to purchase homemade goodies!

6. Design Festa vol 46 (Big Site, Ariake, Tokyo) – If you are into design and art, this is a great event to attend. The place is packed with people who live and eat design and art. You can just feel the creativity all around you. Attendees are a good mix of pros and amateurs. The event has vendor booths and exhibitions that cover everything from CG and 3D design to handmade crafts. There are also many booths focused on blogging and social media (Line, etc.). Great place to learn about the latest trends in design and art. If your elementary and older kids love art, please take them!

BONUS: Antique Hunting:  There are four great markets in Tokyo this weekend; the Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine Antique Fair (Fukagawa), Gokokuji Antique Fair (Otsuka), Hanazono Shrine Antique Fair (Shinjuku), Fussa Shichifukujin Antique Fair (Fussa).
