Special Insect Exhibition at the National Museum of Nature and Science

The National Museum of Nature and Science is holding a special Insect Exhibition which is aimed at offering visitors a sneak peak into the world of insects; their multifarious body structures and abilities or behaviours, with the aid of computer graphics and sensory exhibits. “The exhibition also introduces cutting edge research of insects that utilizes machines like the electron microscope and CT scans, and touches upon the ways this research has contributed to many aspects of our contemporary life. At the same time, based on the fact that “catching insects, which we are all familiar with, is the very first step of entomological research, it includes detailed explanations of how to collect insects and make specimens appropriately”. Take a peek inside the world of insects from around the world.

Couple your visit with a trip to Ueno Zoo and/or the Ueno Summer Festival. The Ueno Summer festival is being held now till August 12th.
