If you are a Kit Kat lover, a fun activity with the kids is the My Kit Kat Making experience offered at the newly opened Shibuya Miyashita Park Building.
The Kit Kat Making takes about 30-40 mins and you leave with a personally designed Kit Kat bar in a pretty box. The experience is 2,100 yen (including tax). My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The chocolate bar had an expiration date of two weeks but it only lasted a few hours! No reservations are accepted, so show up at 11:00 when the park opens and reserve a spot at 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 3:30, or 4:30. If you have to wait check out the hip new shops, have lunch in the food hall (Taco Bell, China Panda, and others) or grab a coffee on the roof garden.
My Kit Kat Making, Shibuya Miyashita Park Building
There is a Kit Kat making instructor and assistant instructor who will guide six – 9 students for 30-40 mins. First, you chose your chocolate flavor – ruby, milk, or dark. Then you select four decoration types from nuts, fruits, candies. Once your selection is complete you learn to slice the wafers, submerge them in chocolate and then decorate. The knife used to cut the wafers is quite sharp for parents who need to help younger kids. After you are done decorating the Kit Kats are cooled for 30 mins. We went and had lunch and picked up afterward. A fun activity for the kids and chocolate lovers.
