The Mono Tsukuri Expo sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is an Expo to show how Japanese crafts, and traditional arts are made. The three-day expo is free to attend and watch the items being made. If you would like to learn, you can sign-up and pay for each workshop. Reservations are taken in advance until July 23rd (but many will fill up by then, act quickly).
Many of the workshops are free, but most are in the range of 500-2,000 yen. Most of the workshops are also kid friendly (ages noted on the posting). This expo will be popular with families, so we recommend you sign-up today to get a workshop space. They have an excellent English language website so you can read all about the different events in detail. However, we have shortlisted what we think will be most enjoyable. The expo will be held in the TOC building in Gotanda, Tokyo which is one of our favorite one-stop shopping spots in Tokyo for baby, kids, crafts materials and more (check our post about the TOC building here. )
