Midorie Organic food deli and cafe sits nestled in the backstreets of Yutenji, a lively residential neighborhood one stop from Nakameguro station. Midorie Organic Yutenji is the newest of their three stores specializing in seasonal organic fruits and vegetables, healthy sweets, pesticide-free rice and vegetables, farm fresh fish and additive-free seasonings.
We visited the new cafe the other day and were welcomed to see a lush green patio and bright interior with wooden tables and chairs inside and out. The specials that day were a white fish lunch set with salad, three sides, miso soup and your choice of brown, black or beaned rice (1180 JPY); a selection of 3 items from the hot foods or cold deli, miso soup and rice (1240 JPY); the 9 piece lunch where the staff selects 9 items from the hot and cold deli and serves it with miso soup and rice (1480 JPY) and the Midorie Nasi Goreng, their take on a
healthy Indonesian fried rice (1150 JPY). The food fresh and wholesome in a lovely, non-smoking space. Perfect for families. Take out also available.
Post lunch take a nice stroll down the Yutenji shopping street then visit the Yutenji Temple. Walk a little further to explore Nakameguro, Ebisu and Daikanyama.
