Here are our May 26 & 27, 2018 Tokyo Weekend Family Events and Activities. It looks like it is going to be a hot and sunny weekend. Definitely, a great weekend to walk, hike, bike or play outside at our favorite Tokyo Plagrounds. 1. Paint and Wine Afternoon – Best Living Japan is partnering with ArtBar to offer a fun paint and wine afternoon this Saturday, May 26th 16:00 – 18:00. Come paint a Kusama Style Pumpkin Minami Azabu! Great couple activity or fun time with friends. Visit the ArtBar website and sign-up for the Kusama Style Pumpkin class at Best Living Japan. No experience is necessary!

Session Includes: 
– All instruction and materials
– Glass of White or Red Wine
– Non-Alcoholic Beverage, Green Tea, Water or Juice
– Light Snacks

2. Laos Festival 2018 (Yoyogi Park/Harajuku) – Visit the Laos Festival this weekend to learn about Laos culture, food and entertainment. In past years over 170,000 people have attended the Laos Festival so be ready to party.

3. Okinawa Mensore Festival 2018 (Sunshine City Ikebukuro) – Visit the Okinawa Mensore Festival for a week long event of dancing, music, and food. Enjoy the beer garden serving Okinawa Orion Beer, live entertainment with vocal groups and comedians, and dance performances along Sunshine 60 Street or inside Sunshine City at the Fountain Plaza (Fountain Plaza Dances on May 26 and 27th at from 12:00 and 14:00). While you`re there visit the Sunshine Aquarium or Sky Circus Sunshine City Observatory and Virtual Reality Space.

4. Firefly Evening in Yokohama (Sankeien Garden) – Sankeien is a beautiful garden any time of the year, however, from May 25 – June 3rd the garden will stay open until late so visitors can see the Fireflies dancing around the garden and pond. The garden will be dark so be careful when walking. The garden management also asks that visitors do not use their flashes nor portable phones to create light since this will be a nuisance for other visitors. Also do not try to catch the fireflies since they will only live one week and everyone would like to enjoy it. Have a fun Tokyo Family Weekend in Yokohama.

Enoshima beach and caves, Best Living Japan
5. Take a day trip to Enoshima beach, aquarium, boat ride, caves and flower festival (Enoshima, Kanagawa-ken) – Grab your sandcastle tools, bathing suits and towels and head on the train to Enoshima (about 60-75 mins from Tokyo). Enoshima has a beautiful beach great for kids of all ages (no lifeguard until later July). It also has one of the best aquariums in the Kanto area (Enoshima Aquarium), a beautiful island you can take a short boat ride to explore caves and hike to see amazing views, and the Flower Festival held at the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Gardens on the Enoshima Island until June 10th, 2018.

Tokyo Antique Shrine and Flea MarketsBONUS: Antique Hunting: There are three great fairs to visit in Tokyo this weekend; the Shinjuku Antique Fair (Shinjuku), Antique Fair at Nogi Shrine (Roppongi), and the Tama Antique Fair (Tachikawa).
