1. Tokyo Outside Festival (Shinjuku Chuokoen) – This outdoor festival takes over Shinjuku Chuo Park for the weekend. Great event for the family to try some new recreational sports, listen to live performances and check out cool new products. Really it is a just a free fun event that will be a great side trip to checking out the Cherry Blossoms in Shinjuku Park

2. Tokyo Midtown Blossom 2019: In celebration of the coming of spring, Tokyo Midtown will hold their “MIDTOWN BLOSSOM 2019”. Enjoy the CHANDON Blossom Lounge – A luxurious outdoor space for a limited time only to enjoy the coming of spring with grand services. Dishes are supervised by the executive sous chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, and sparkling wine is CHANDON. Relish the pairing of an experience available only by recommendation of the The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo and CHANDON.

Cherry blossom illumination – An illumination event for 200 meters of the cherry tree avenue as the sun sets. At nighttime, the cherry blossoms show a different face from day-time for you to enjoy. Pink lights are used before the buds open, and then white once they do.

Spring Flower Display – An indoor flower display as the first herald of spring. Experience the water, light, and breath of spring with all your five senses through works that perfectly balance fresh cherry blossoms foliage with artificial flower petals. The cherry petals will sway to the music of spring like notes on a musical stave.

3. The British School of Tokyo (Shibuya) will hold their annual Spring festival on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 from 11:00am – 3:00pm. The Spring Fair attracts over 1,500 people through the doors on the day and is a whole school event that brings together the BST community. They will have international food stalls, live music and entertainment, games, raffle and more. All proceeds from the Spring Fair raffle go to the BST PTA, where the funds are provided directly to the school to purchase equipment and for small capital projects.

4. Lego Park 2019 at Futako Tamagawa Rise – This free 4 day event will take place at Futako Tamagawa Rise from March 21 (Thu) to March 24 (Sun). They have a “MEGA LEGO POOL” where kids can build with 300,000 Lego blocks, the Lego Tower Battle where you can win a Lego set if you can build a LEGO tower with at least 75 bricks in 2 minutes (ages 5 – 13 years), experience their Lego City and Lego Friends structures, and have an opportunity to win Lego Store Coupons or Lego Stickers at the Lego Store located on the 6th floor of the shopping complex.

While you`re in the area visit the Tsutaya Electrics Futakotamagawa – An Art and Technology Store Futakotamagawa Park, the creative DIY Factory where you can learn, make, buy DIY products; the 100 Spoons Family Restaurant,  Japanese Garden and playgroundZara Home; theater, shops and numerous family friendly restaurants.

5. Showa Memorial Park Flower Festival 2019 – From tomorrow, Saturday, March 23 Showa Memorial Park will hold their annual Flower Festival, starting with cherry blossoms, tulips, Shirley poppies and more beautiful Spring flowers. The park also has bike rentals, hiking, climbing nets, huge white bouncy soft blobs and playground. You can spend the entire day at the park so pack a lunch and all your sports equipment. Access: 2 min walk from Nishi Tachikawa Station, 14 min walk from Tachikawa station. I recommend you take eh Chuo Line from Shinjuku directly to Nishi Tachikawa station which is a good spot to get a rental bike. There is a also a large parking lot at the Nishi Tachikawa park side (near the station).
