What is Kombucha? In Japan Kombu is a seaweed, and Cha is tea, but actually the kombucha know throughout the world has no seaweed in it. Did I peak your interest? Kombucha is a detoxifier and pro-biotic, kombucha tea has become a popular beverage in the last few years because of its health benefits and unique taste. It is a delicious and healthy fermented tea beverage that dates back over 2,000 years, and the ancient Chinese referred to it as “Immortal Health Elixir.” Made from sweetened tea that’s been fermented by a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY, a.k.a. “mother”).

Lauren Bliss Kawasaki is a kombucha lover, maker, and evangelist. Mom of four kids, three pets and Co-Founder of Best Living Japan. Lauren was a studio art major in undergrad but was sucked into the business world graduating with an MBA from Harvard Business School and working 20+ years in the corporate world (Hill & Knowlton, Clorox, BabyCenter.com and Amazon.com & Amazon.co.jp. She retired in 2014 to follow her creative passions and help empower other mompreneurs to identify and pursue their passions and make money. Lauren also teaches kintsugi and the Build a Business in Japan classes.
