As I was shopping for household goods and stationary at Tokyu Hands, Tokyo`s popular household goods store, I noticed there was a Hands Cafe (ハンズカフェ) located on the 7th floor. It is a great non-smoking spot to rest your feet and have a drink after browsing the multiple floors below.
Hands Cafe is cozy with bright, natural light and is nestled in the corner of the physics and chemistry supplies floor. Think Nature meets Science and Technology. It has a lovely wood interior with communal or private seating, terrace seating, and a long table against the windows with four Macbooks for use for free. Behind the computers sits a lovely outdoor cactus and plant garden that patrons can browse freely.
Hands Cafe no longer offers a kids set menu as stated on their website, and they don`t supply high chairs, however they have sofa seating in private corners and enough on their menu to satisfy your kids; waffles, curries, sandwiches, fried chicken and fries. Their sweets are decadent and their coffee bitter – a delicious combination. Grab a seat, place an order, and browse the many items on display from animals to plants and science – a lovely spot to relax your feet and let your mind wander in a natural-like setting.
Next to the cafe is the Hands Gallery Market which showcases different products monthly. From Thursday, June 1, 2017 to Tuesday, July 4 the Hands Gallery Market is showcasing their “Fake Sweets Deco Marche”; jewelry and trinkets shaped like sweets. Visit the website for a few photos of the products.
