Futako Tamagawa Park (二子玉川公園) is a spacious and beautifully landscape park opened in Spring last year. Located just behind the Rise Shopping Complex and adjacent to the Tama River this park has something for everyone; a tranquil Japanese Garden, great paths for jogs or strolls, a small outdoor playground suitable for toddlers, access to the bike path along the Tama River, and close proximity to shopping and dining.
This Spring visit their “Kinshin-en” or “return to nature” Japanese Garden and take in the architecture, nature and water pools. Learn more about the garden via their English pamplet. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the park to find flowers blooming, insects roaming and a number of activities and free events teaching the young and old about the park. On a clear day step into the designated area to see a clear view of Majestic Mount Fuji. It`s a beautiful and tranquil location to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
The Futako Tamagawa childrens` playground is a safe haven for young kids. It`s covered with rubberized flooring, has climbing equipment, three Spring Riders, a slide, water play in summer and clean restrooms. Nursing room and diaper changing facilities also available. Please ask a staff member to open the room. There is a visitors center, book corner and relaxation space located on the third floor of the building adjacent to the childrens` park. Food and drink are allowed. Hours: 8:30-17:00 daily (closed December 29 – January 3).
P.S. Stop in 100 Spoons for lunch or walk a little further to dine at Farm Shop or Bills Futakotamagawa then stop by Flying Tiger for some unique party home goods.
