It`s starting to feel like Spring! A great time to get your little ones to practice riding. We found this great bicycle traffic park two blocks behind the Squirrel Park at Komazawa Olympic Park #4 on our list of Top 10 Recommended Baby and Kids Parks in Tokyo.
Fusumacho (衾町) Bicycle Park has about 60 trikes and bikes fit for toddlers up to elementary aged kids; 4 toddler trikes, 40 bikes and trikes for kindy aged kids, and nine 14″ bikes for elementary aged kids. The bicycle traffic safety park is clean and well kept with a working traffic and train crossing signal. They also have bags of sand toys kids can play with in the park`s mini sandbox. All absolutely free! Just go to the window and fill out your child`s name, age, whether they are male/female, and number of bike borrowed. They have helmets you can borrow as well. Personal bikes/trikes are not allowed.
Toddlers can practice riding in the center track, play in the shaded sand pit, or play with the small train sculptures near the back of the park. There are plenty of benches for parents to relax surrounding the park. A great spot for little ones to learn the rules of the road. If you`re looking for a larger track we recommend visiting the cycling park at Komazawa Olympic Park.
After (or before) the traffic park walk across the street to the spacious and well-kept Fusumacho (衾町公園) playground with a spinning globe, slides, teeter totter, 2 baby and 2 regular swings, mini slide, exercise equipment and green area.
If looking for a bite we recommend Ruban Bakery located between Fusumacho Playground Park and Komazawa Olympic Park. Get there early as it`s a popular spot. Hours Monday to Saturday 10: 00 ~ 19: 00 Sunday · Holidays 8: 00 ~ 19: 00 (closed every Tuesday).
