Floresta Nature Donuts, known for their adorable animal designs, makes cute, light tasting donuts using all natural ingredients from organically farmed sources. Floresta was started in 2002 by a husband and wife who wanted to make donuts that were the most natural and kind to their kids` bodies. They use natural and organic ingredients with no additives/preservatives and they are also careful to reduce their negative impact on the environment. All their donuts are baked fresh everyday and they limit the number of donuts they produce to prevent waste.
I stumbled across the Gakugeidaigaku shop which offers donut take out only. Many of their stores offer donuts, ice cream, shaved ice, rusks, cakes and coffee. Each store rotates and limits their daily selections of special animal decorated donuts so go early as the cute ones go fast. If you`re looking for a specific design each store lists a monthly schedule of when week each animal design is coming out. Not all animal designs are available every day. They use almonds for the animal ears and all of the colored frosting comes from natural ingredients. Best eaten right away but can keep up to 2 days at room temperature.
The shop is a few minutes walk to Himonya Park Petting Zoo and Pony Rides, a great spot to enjoy these adorable donuts.
