Farmshop, Futakotamagawa – Seasonal Californian Cuisine & Market

2018 UPDATE: Farmshop in Futakotamagawa has permanently closed and is now Shake Shack Burgers. 

Farmshop Restaurant and Market is known for their farm-to-table concept – delivering locally produced food to local consumers. They serve seasonal and casual Californian dishes at their dining-bakery-market. Conveniently located in the Takashimaya Maronie Court in Futakotamagawa it sits alongside Bills, The Muji store and Cafe, Gap Kids and the quirky Flying Tiger shop.

Farmshop has three dining areas; a cafe space, bar and spacious dining room with views of the open kitchen. The interior is rustic, casual with cement flooring, velvet covered booths and smooth wooden chairs. I stopped in and ordered their pasta course which came with Caesar Salad (escarole, chicory & radicchio with caesar dressing & parmesan), Conchiglie al Pesto (basil, pine nuts, walnuts & parmesan), Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta dessert (black pepper strawberry jam) and a choice of coffee or tea (1800 yen). The food was fresh and delicious, the staff prompt and friendly.

Their market carries a bit of everything; fresh foods, oils, condiments, spirits and kitchenware. Their bakery carries an assortment of breads and sweets, and they have a fully stocked bar with beers on tap.

There`s something for everyone, whether you stop in for a full meal, snack or take home.
