Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 21st which is the Disaster Awareness Day at the Tokyo American Club. The free Disaster Awareness Day event is open to the public and is a great community event to teach your kids about how to plan for and survive a disaster.
There are simulators and experts on hand to give you tips on survival. The event is attended by the Azabu Juban Fire Department and will feature a fire truck, earthquake simulator, smoke house and fire extinguishers. Our kids have attended from about three years in age and found it very memorable and educational. The ideal age is 3-12 years, although the young at heart will enjoy. Visiting this 1.5hour free family-oriented event will leave participants equipped to deal with a disaster.
