It’s almost Christmas! Kids are on holiday break and the days are filled with holiday preparations and parties. It looks like a bright and chilly weekend. A great time to bundle up, take in the illuminations, Christmas markets and go ice skating. 2018 Tokyo area meet Santa Claus locations

1. LaQua Tokyo Dome (Korakoen, Bunkyo-ku) – Santa will visit the LaQua shopping area at Tokyo Dome over five days this December 2018. This year he`ll wear a yukata and walk around the shopping area between 15:00 – 18:30 (see details below).  Kids can talk to him and take informal Santa Claus photos. Tokyo Dome is a super outing – Asobono playcenter, roller skatingamusement parkor Spa the entire day.

Event: December 15 (Saturday), December 16 (Sunday), December 22 (Saturday) – December 24 (Monday); 15:00 on the 3rd floor, 16:00 on the 4th floor; 17:00 and 18:00 in the La Qua Garden for 30 min sessions

2. Setagaya Boroichi (Setagaya-ku) – Over 700 stalls selling everything and the kitchen sink.  Get off at Setagaya station and walk Boroichi Dori to Kamimachi Station. Plan for 2-3 hours to see the entire street. Very crowded so not recommended for children. 3. Christmas Markets are already in full swing! Get into the holiday spirit and stop in one of the Best Tokyo Christmas markets! Bundle up and shop for food and gifts under the illumination. Happy Holidays!

4. Futako Tamagawa Rise Skating Garden 2018 – Dec 15 – Feb 24 – Enjoy a day of shopping and skating at the Futago Tamagawa Rise complex. They will offer Kids group lessons. Details forthcoming… The skate rink is a full-scale 390 square meter ice skating rink. You can also enjoy the illuminations until December 25th.

Days and Times: Thursday, December 15, 2018 – Sunday, February 24, 2019; Weekday From 13:00 to 20:00, Saturday/Sunday/National Holidays 11:00 to 20:00.

Cost: Skating fee adults 1,500 JPY per day, High school and under are 1,000 JPY (skates included)
Note: Skate, helmets and knee/elbow pads are free (Shoes size: 15cm – 30cm) – Gloves are necessary.

5. Tokyo Area Holiday Illuminations – Some will come down on December 25th so head on out before they`re gone. Don`t worry, some of the illuminations stay up in the New Year so you can enjoy for months to come.
