If you love seafood, miss the US West Coast and want a cozy place for a great date night try Cedros. Hubby and I had a wonderful dinner the other night and loved the food, craft beer and unique wine selection at Cedros. The service was excellent and entire environment very relaxing. The brothers are completely bilingual and have a very California vibe to them. I love the fact that the restaurant is closed on Sunday – great life balance!
Cedros is an American-style seafood restaurant, whose dishes are inspired by traditional West Coast fish house cuisine. They source all of their ingredients locally and change the menu based on the season. The craft beer selection and wine selection is also unique and matched the food perfectly.
So what did we eat and love? Must haves are the lobster risotto and salmon on mashed potatoes on the regular Cedros menu, and the large grilled scallops with yuzu crema from the special menu. I think they make the best mash potatoes I have had in Tokyo! Most of the mains run between 2,400 -3,000 yen. They also have a great line-up of starters and small plates not to be missed.
Lunch dishes are between 1,400 and 1,800 yen and include presently ahi watercress salad, a clam and mushroom risotto, pan friend swordfish, Cedros lobster burrito and their delicious fish tacos. Great place for a girls lunch!
There are also a few desserts, but dinner filled us, so we passed this time. Note serving size are a good size.
Cedars opened late last year and is run by two Japanese brothers who were raised on the West Coast and Japan. Here is some first-hand info from one of the founding brothers Yui. “Ever since I can remember, my brother and I have always had a passion for food. Growing up in Southern California and the Pacific Northwest, we were exposed to many different types of cuisines at such a young age. Cedros is our take on North American seafood while incorporating the fresh ingredients that Japan offers.”
Hope you enjoy as much as we did! Will be back soon. Try Cedros out for a great date night
