Onsens & Spas in Japan with kids

There are thousands of onsens and spas in Japan, but we have short-listed our favorites in the greater Tokyo area that are family and kids friendly. Things to note are that children under age six can enter the opposite sex bathing area with their parent. However, once over six, they are only allowed in their sex bathing area. Many onsens in Japan also do not allow people with tattoos to bath – we have tried to note if tattoos are allowed or not on the article. When you go to an onsen you can save money by taking your own small towel and bath towel. Usually, these are 300-500 yen per person. We love visiting onsens and spas and how you will as well.
