Never knew that biking in Yoyogi Park could be so fun! Trying to teach little ones to bike on the streets in a Tokyo neighborhood is quite stressful. If you have beginner bikers consider renting a bike and learning in the safe and flat bike course at Yoyogi Park. You can rent scooters, bikes with training wheels, regular two-wheel bikes, and even give a tandem bike spin.
Biking in Yoyogi Park – Bike Rentals from Tricycles to Tandems
The Yoyogi Bike rental center and course is open rain or shine. The bike rental volunteers said rainy weather actually brings out quite a few people. For a few hundred yen you can get a bike rental ticket at the electric ticket dispenser and line-up for a bike. When we went early on a Thursday (not during school 
vacation time), we did not have to wait at all. However, we were told not the weekends during spring and summer school vacations there can be a line. I was told there are over 200 bikes so you should not have to wait too long.
Bikes are 100- 210 yen per hour. There is a separate bike course area where kids on scooters and training bikes can bike while parents walk next to them and not larger bikes are allowed. A very safe and easy environment for younger ones. Helmets are provided in your ticket price for kids and adults. Please wear the helmet you are lent, and return the bikes back to the Cycle Center.

Address: The Cycling Center is located at the northern tip of the park. The park address is Tokyo, Shibuya, 2-1 Yoyogikamizonocho, Shibuya0ku, Tokyo (google map)
Business Hours: Closed Mondays; open 10:00 – 16:00 (bikes must be returned by 16:30)
Cost: 100 JPY per hour for kids, 210 yen per hour for adults
Access: 8 min walk from Harajuku Station on the JR Yamanote Line, 8 min walk from Yoyogi Station on the Chiyoda Line, or 8 min walk from Yoyogi Hachiman Station on the Odakyu Line

Notes: You can bring your own bike and ride on the bike course, as well as through the park. Rental bikes can only be used on the bike course.
