Bagel Standard is a small shop on Yamate Dori that serves New York Style plain, toasted or sandwiched bagels, juices and smoothies. A great place to grab a bagel and go for a picnic lunch. The owner uses American wheat and flour to create bagels that are firm, plump and delicious!
They bake sesame seed, poppy seed, salt, cinnamon raisin, berry berry, everything and onion bagels as well as unique bagels kids will love like their peanut butter chocolate bagel. They also offer take away containers of flavored cream cheese such as Blueberry, Mango Mint, Fig, Orange Almond, Rum Raisin, and Dried Tomato for around 250 yen per 60g. Bagels range from 190 yen – 250 yen each.
Bagel Standard also serves pre-made deli sandwiches from 480 yen; Ham & Egg, Tuna Salad, Egg Salad, Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese, Honey Mustard Chicken and more. Made-to-order bagel sandwiches also available. I ordered the smoked salmon cream cheese and berry berry bagel. The bagel was plump and soft and the salmon high quality. Kids loved the berry berry bagel with blueberry cream cheese.
Bagel Standard also offers a variety of delicious smoothies; Banana Juice, Non-sugar Green Smoothie, Chocolate Banana, Mix Berry Smoothie, and Pineapple Banana to name a few (470 yen – 600 yen each).
There are two benches set outside the store to eat at, however if you are with kids I would grab a bagel and smoothie and picnic at Nakameguro Park down the street. Note Bagel Standard closes once the day`s stock has been sold.
If you can`t make it to Bagel Standard their bagels are available at National Azabu and at Nissan World Delicassen.
