1. Kids and Baby Flea Market and Easter Bunny Photos (Minami Azabu, Mianto-ku) – Please support the Troop #20605 Girl Scouts Fundraiser Kids and Baby Flea Market and Easter Bunny Photos(Minato-ku) – Kids & Baby Lightly Loved Sale. The sale will be Sat & Sun, April 13 & 14 from 10:00 – 15:00. Our 50 scouts ages 5-12 are holding their first Kids & Baby Lightly Loved Sale to earn their fiscal responsibility and entrepreneur leaves and badges. We will also be offering photos with the Easter Bunny for 1,000 yen per family. All of the proceeds from the sale will go to the Troop to fund their weekend camping trip in May. Note: Cash only!

April 2017 Tokyo Top 10 Activities and Events2. Active Kids Festa, Ariake, Tokyo (April 13 & 14, 2019) – This two-day event is a lot of fun for kids 3-8 years of age. This video will give you a taste of the event! This years’s event will be the 10th annual Active Kids Festa, which is supported by many sports companies. You and your children can view and participate in many new sports and activities such as running bikes, skate boards, bungee, paddle boards, etc. The BMX trick show is a must see. If you have an active kid,
give it a try. Also, stop in the FREE Panasonic Center Tokyo while you`re there.

3. The Nezu Shrine Azalea Festival from early – April till the end of Golden Week (2nd week of May) is a beautiful landscape of ancient Japanese temple buildings, bright orange gates and thousands and thousands of azalea bushes in every color possible. The Shrine’s azalea garden was reportedly planted 300 years ago and has over 3,000 azalea bushes with over 100 species. If you have a botanist or flower lover in your family, this will be a favorite annual destination. More Details –>

4. Tokyo Antique Fairs Enjoy five great markets this weekend; the Gokokuji Antique Fair (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo), Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine Antique Fair (Koto-ku, Tokyo), Hanazono Shrine Antique Fair (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), Fussa Shichifukujin Antique Fair (Fussa, Tokyo), Takahata Fudo Antique Fair (Hino, Tokyo) Details found on our April 2019 Antique & Flea Markets list.

5. 61st annual Kamakura Festival, Kanagawa – April 14 – 21st (Sunday is the best day to attend) – The entire town of Kamikura transforms into a Kamakura Buddhafestival area with parades and mikoshi to celebrate the the height of Kamakura power during the Medieval Period.  Tsurugaoka Hachimangu is a historic shrine and a symbol of Kamakura. The main attractions are the shizuka no mai dance performed in the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine on the second Sunday and yabusame on the third Sunday. You can also see Yabusame, the art of shooting arrows on horseback.  I highly recommend you take the train due to large crowds. This is a super fun festival to attend and visit Kamakura. Here is our one day itinerary for Kamakura. 

Asakusa Kannon-ura Ichiyo Sakura-matsuri Festival6. Asakusa Kannon-ura Ichiyo Sakura-matsuri Festival (Edo Yoshiwara Oiran-dochu Procession) (Sat, April 13th) – If you want to experience a procession from the Edo period (1603–1868) with beautifully appointed geisha and servants this might be the best opportunity. Ichiyo Sakura Matsuri is one of the three great festivals of Asakusa shrine area and each year over 100,00 people gather to see the procession, shows and flea market; as well as the beautiful cherry blossoms that line the procession. While in the area check out Kappabashi (Kitchen town) and the Drum Museum!

7. Tokyo Midtown Blossom 2019: This is the last weekend to enjoy the CHANDON Blossom Lounge – A luxurious outdoor space for a limited time only to enjoy the coming of spring with grand services. Also, the Cherry blossom illumination – An illumination event for 200 meters of the cherry tree avenue as the sun sets. At nighttime, the cherry blossoms show a different face from day-time for you to enjoy. P

Experience the water, light, and breath of spring with all your five senses through works that perfectly balance fresh cherry blossoms foliage with artificial flower petals. The cherry petals will sway to the music of spring like notes on a musical stave.
