10 Best Japanese Items For A Toddler

My daughter just turned 15 months old not too long ago, and it’s still a shock having a “toddler” in my care. Luckily for me, my sister-in-law, who is a mom of 2, has been there to help me on my journey. She’s also helped me gather everything I need for life with a toddler.

You can find these 10 best Japanese items for toddlers at any baby store such as Akachan Honpo or Nishi Matsuya, but I’ve also included Amazon Japan links for each item.

Tooth Cleaners

It’s funny how toddlers like to put everything in their mouths, but when it’s time to brush their teeth, they won’t open up at all!

While they are not a 100% substitute for proper brushing and oral care, these are great for when you have a sleepy kid or for when you’re traveling.

To use, simply remove from packaging and cover your fingertip. Gently wipe back and forth across the surface of the teeth and gums. The wipes are single-use only and should be discarded with burnable trash.

Backpack Leashes

A long time ago, I used to think, “Dogs in strollers and babies on leashes — what is this world coming to?” But with a dog and a toddler in tow, I totally get it now! Sometimes little ones are just too stubborn and refuse to hold your hand, yet they want to walk by themselves. Encourage independence and responsibility by picking a leash that attaches to a cute backpack with storage for a special toy, snacks, and drinks.
