4. Experience the Chiyoda Sakura Festival and boating on the Imperial Palace moat (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) – One of the most beautiful paths to walk or boat is around the Chidorigafuchi moat. There is a path called the Chidorigafuchi moat greenery path, which is entered via the Kita-no-maru Koen. If you rent a boat you will see the beautiful view of the Somei Yoshiko (most popular variety of cherry blossom in Japan which has pure white, tinged with the palest pink) and Oshima (pure white blossoms on umbrella snapped trees) cherry trees that line the banks. 11080890_959421470755453_637032988070372560_nThe boats are available to rent from 10:00 until about 21:00 which is beautiful when the trees are illuminated at night. Great date night spot but wear something warm! The moat becomes full of petals as the blossoms dropped which form beautiful patterns in the water. The fee is 800 yen for a 30 minute boat rent. Two adults and one child can ride per boat.  Information in Japanese can be found on the Chiyoda Sakura Festival at the Chiyoda-ku tourist website. http://www.kanko-chiyoda.jp/tabid/1116/Default.aspx
