Tokyo Family Weekend Activities BestLivingJapan#1. Minato-ku Eco Life Fair (Minami Azabu, Minato-ku) – Minato-ku is holding their annual Eco Life Fair on Saturday, May 23rd in Arisagawa Park. The goal of the fair is to increase people’s awareness and preservation of energy, life and earth.  The Fair will be held in the upper ground area and is split into three zones – Energy, Living Creatures, Recycle. There will be many groups and exhibits about Eco.  There are also recycled bicycles and furniture for sale. You and your family can also watch music stage performances, and meet the character ChibiMaruko-Chan, who will arrive at 13:00.  Come to learn and be Eco!

0#2. Tell Charity Walk and Run  (Tamagawa, Tokyo) – It not too late to run for a great cause – the 16th edition of the TELL Charity Walk and Run on May 24th, 2015.  The charity walk and run takes place at the Tama River (Tamagawa) running course and comprises a 10-kilometer run, 5-kilometer run, 5-kilometer walk, and 5-kilometer run for children. The theme of this years  TELL Charity Walk and Run is ‘Stand Up! Don’t Stand By’ to raise further awareness to this important issue and help prevent bullying in our society through education and awareness.

Tokyo Family Weekend Activities BestLivingJapan#3. Laos Festival (Yoyogi/Harajuku) – Visit the Laos Festival this weekend to learn about Laos culture, food and travel. This year the Laos Festival is to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Japan-Laos diplomatic relations. It is expected that over 150,000 people will attend the Laos Festival so be ready to party.

#4. Meet Godzilla @ Midtown
 (Roppongi Midtown, Minato-ku) – If you have not said hello to Godzilla in Midtown yet hurry up because he is leaving this Sunday, May 23rd.  The head of the Godzilla used in the Hollywood version of the movie has been scaled down to one seventh the size to create an enormous artwork in which the face of Godzilla’s 4m head peaks out from the concrete pavement. Great family photo op. While you are in the area visit 21-21 Design Sight.

Tokyo International Art Fair (Harajuku, Shibuya-ku) – The city of Tokyo is playing host to hundreds of talented artists from all around the world when it stages the first Tokyo International Art Fair by Global Art Agency from 22nd to 23rd May 2015.  More than 150 artists from over 30 countries will be filling the prime located Quest Hall – Harajuku with an incredible display of art, with more pieces than ever before gathered under one roof for visitors to admire and to buy in the city’s largest Artist showcase of modern and contemporary art.
