Rin 8890, Akihabara

Rin 8890 Best Living JapanRin 8890 is one of my favourite Japanese craft boutiques in Tokyo. If you are looking for utilitarian items with great style, this is a one-stop store. Although the store’s space is small, you are sure to find something that you “must” have. Rin 8890 Best Living Japan.Rin 8890 Best Living Japan

Rin, also, has a beautiful new website that is quite convenient if you can not get to the Kanda/Akihabara area. Many people may remember Rin from their store in Aoyama/Omotesando which they just closed last year.

Some of my favourite items for this years holidays include the following. But check it out and find your treasure or a gift for someone else!

3. Not just soap on a rope, but fish soap on a rope! What man doesn’t need one of these?

4. If you have a nature or specifically an insect lover in your circle, these embroidered phone straps are extremely unique!DSC_1349

DSC_13545. Does the man in your life have everything? Well, how about these kitchen tools made for men (?). They are black and stylish so I guess men would want to peel vegetable or open cans more frequently. Either way they are a sleek design that would look handsome in any man or woman’s hands.

6. If you are a wine lover, these beautiful wine will be a unique additional to your collection of goblets. They are all made from one solid piece of wood.DSC_1358

DSC_13637. Loved these stuffed Animals from the Chinese Zodiac calendar. Buy one animal for all 12 years, or one for each member of your family’s birth years and use as holiday ornaments.

And to top your gifting off, Rin 8890 has a beautiful selection of furoshiki (wrapping fabric) to present your gifts.

While you are in the area, you should head towards Akihabara and visit both the Aki-Oka artisan centre and Maach Ecute for further selection of beautiful Japanese crafts and artwork!
