1. Tokyo Outside Festival (Shinjuku Chuokoen) – This outdoor festival takes over Shinjuku Chuo Park for the weekend. Great event for the family to try some new recreational sports, listen to live performances and check out cool new products. Really it is a just a free fun event that will be a great side trip to checking out the Cherry Blossoms in Shinjuku Gyoen.

2. The 10th African Festival (Yokohama) –  “A festival organized to bridge the cultural difference between Africa and Japan” is being held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse this weekend. Experience traditional cultural drumming and dancing, an African games corner, a musical instrument workshop, African cuisine & drink, and the African art and crafts market. While in the area I recommend you visit some of our families favorites in Yokohama – CupNoodle Museum, Overseas Migration Museum, Zoorasia, Kodomo no Kuni or the Anpanman Museum.

Tokyo Midtown 10th Anniversary event: Tokyo Midtown is home to several art museums, a spacious green park and lush Japanese garden, medical center and so much more. This month till mid April Tokyo Midtown is commemorating their 10th anniversary by featuring a 6m high 23m wide Mt. Fuji on their Grass Square. Visit from 18:00 to view projection mapping technology reflected on the mountain. You can also enjoy a drink in their outdoor Martini blossom lounge and gaze at their beautiful Spring installations.

5. Akasaka Mama Sacas 2017 (Akasaka):  Many activities for young kids at the annual Sacas Spring event located in the TBS Broadcast Center Arena. We visited this week and had so much fun. Open to the public this event showcases a number of free activities great for toddlers up to elementary school aged kids.

6. Antique Hunting: There are five great fairs to visit in Tokyo this weekend; Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine Antique Fair (Koto-ku), Hanazono Shrine Antique Fair (Shinjuku-ku), O-Edo Antique Market (Yoyogi), Antique Fair at Nogi Shrine (Roppongi) and the Tama Antique Fair (Tachikawa).
