Little Bird Gluten Free Restaurant, Yoyogi Uehara

I had a delicious lunch at the Little Bird Gluten Free Restaurant in Yoyogi (previously located in Harajuku) this week. The restaurant is 100% gluten free, and the chef and owner who has celiac disease is one darn good cook. Little Bird Restaurant offers a nice selection of entrees Little Bird Gluten Free Restaurantand desserts for lunch and dinner. If you are celiac, you can relax and be 100% safe. Little Bird Restaurant opened in the Spring of 2015, is quite small and has a basic interior, but I think it has a big future.

Little Bird’s menu offers three sandwich platters with rice bread and french fries, three pasta dishes, Little Bird Gluten Free 4curry rice, omurice and pizza. I had the Carbonara pasta and it was perfect. They also have an amazing selection of GF
crepes and what they call a rice ring (a huge custard filled ring crepe). I ordered a ring with no ice-cream but chocolate sauce that was moist and so yummy, but way too much for one person. Make sure you bring a date for lunch or dinner. One can enjoy a meal with an entree, dessert and beverage for about 2,000 JPY. Reservations are not necessary…yet.

Little Bird also sells various GF baking ingredients including cookie and bread flours and powder ingredients for takoyaki, okonomi yaki and tempura.

If you are a celiac or gluten sensitive, Little Bird a little place of paradise in Tokyo.
