First Aid and CPR Emergency Care Training Program Details

The Emergency Care Training course offers a basic foundation in emergency care for the lay provider assuming local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is in place.  Within the course, CPR and first aid skills are integrated into an easy-to-remember emergency care sequence. Due to parents’ busy schedules we run a one-day course (rather than the two-day course that concludes with certification). The course covers eight compulsory skills with integrated First Aid, and it is focused on infant care:

(1) Scene Assessment. (2) Barrier Use.  (3) Primary Assessment. (4) CPR: Chest Compressions Combined with Rescue Breathing. (5) Serious Bleeding Management. (6) Shock Management. (7) Spinal Injury Management. (8) Conscious/Unconscious Choking Child.
