On cold days our family likes to warm up with a nice bowl of tsukemen / ramen at our favorite child-friendly ramen shop, Mitsuyado Seimen in Nakameguro (三ツ矢堂製麺 中目黒店). They are a non-smoking restaurant from 11:00 to 17:00, provide baby high-chairs, and children’s bowls and cutlery. Their English menu is a bonus. We like to order the popular Marutoku Tsukemen, housemade noodles dipped in pork and seafood broth with special toppings of egg, nori (seaweed), pork and vegetables for 1020 yen. The kids love the fresh, mochi-like noodles with a side of delicious pork dumplings (470 yen) that are crispy on the outside and deliciously tender on the inside.
Mitsuyado Seimen makes all their noodles in-house. A viewing window sits next to one of the tables so patrons can view the noodle-making process. Their noodles are served hot, normal, cool or cold with the option of 250g, 350g, 450g, or 550g portion sizes at no extra charge. If you have a heavy appetite they offer the super portion, 700g noodles for an extra 110 yen or the Mega portion, 1500g noodles for an additional 420 yen. Other popular Tsukemen options are noodles dipped in cheese 1020 yen, yam and quail egg for 970 yen or a spicy hot broth for 970 yen. Kids` Tsukemen is also available for 500 yen.
Dumplings, spirits, ramen and rice options are also available, and patio seating on nice weather days.
