Camden Blue Star Donuts is a Portland-born doughnut shop that opened in Tokyo’s chic Daikanyama neighborhood in April 2015. Their unique and creative flavors have earned them the nickname “Donuts for Grownups”. The shop sits inside Fred Segal’s Mart in the Western-themed shopping complex, Log Road.
We stopped in and were impressed by the clean, white interior, tall ceilings and a window view of donuts being made. Their donuts are made fresh from scratch daily. We tried four of the fourteen donuts on display. The Raspberry Pistachio was deliciously crunchy on the bottom, fluffy on the inside and bursting with raspberry flavor (410 yen). The Mexican Hot Chocolate was rich with a spicy jalepeno after taste – not recommended for kids (410 yen). The signature glaze fluffy and sweet (313 yen), and the pumpkin spice a perfect donut for the season (410 yen). Camden Blue Star Donuts offers non-smoking seating indoors in their clean, white dining area or outdoors on the green Fred Segal patio. Coffee, teas and organic beers also available. Stop in for a bite then shop in the Fred Segal Mart for goodies.
“Blue Star Donuts is a gourmet donut concept founded in Portland, OR, in 2012. Our donuts are made from a classic brioche recipe that originated in the south of France. The dough takes 18 hours to make and is made by hand every day.”
